What’s a Wogie?
Wogies is named after my dad, William “Wogie” Hoffman. No one but my mom, Krazy Kate, really knows where the nickname came from—and she’s not talking.
I grew up outside Philly, where my dad loved a great cheesesteak, but his favorite city was always New York. In 2004, I opened Wogies to bring that Philly comfort to NYC, and since then we’ve grown to three locations.
We bake our own bread, make nearly all of our menu from scratch, and try to keep things simple: good food, cold drinks, and a place that feels like home.
